Brian Adams, PhD, MPH

Staff Scientist

Dr. Brian Adams received his PhD in 2020 from the Department of Behavioral and Community Health Sciences.  Brian started with the HIV Prevention and Care Project (HPCP) in 2013, working with Project Silk. Since then, he has taken on roles in other aspects of HPCP, including leading the HIV Planning team and acting as evaluation lead for Project Silk replication projects. Brian received an MPH from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2013, and completed his PhD in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh in 2020. His dissertation examined intimate partner violence (IPV) among male couples, identifying that collecting data from both partners can improve our knowledge of IPV prevalence as well as the factors that may be associated with IPV. Brian hopes to combine his dissertation research with his job experience to further understand connections between IPV and HIV.
