Emmett R. Henderson, MS

Doctoral Candidate

Emmett Henderson is a PhD student in Behavioral and Community Health Sciences at the University of Pittsburgh and is also pursuing a certificate in LGBT Health and Wellness. He obtained an MS in Health Outcomes Research from Saint Louis University in 2017 and an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences and Music Performance from Carnegie Mellon University in 2013. His research interests include HIV prevention among MSM and transgender men, healthy aging, and using resilience-based approaches to improve health outcomes in the LGBT population. Currently, he is working under Dr. Robert Coulter to qualitatively investigate ways in which sexual and gender minority youth have been supported, protected, and affirmed by school staff.
